Core Magic is a weapon of mass destruction utilized by the Ravernal Empire in the past.
Description[]
Based on the investigation by Japanese archaeologists in the ruins of the Ravernal Empire, inside a hollow stone pillar, a magical detonation device and a round extremely powerful magical core. The device can use explosive magic to wrap the core in explosive pressure from all directions, causing an atomic fission chain reaction and resulting in an extremely high-powered explosive phenomenon. That stone pillar is launched into the air using a magical light discharge-type engine (instead of an air pressure engine), flies through the upper stratum of the atmosphere, then falls straight down on the target country. It might have a range of at least 50,000 kilometers. This is the basic description of how an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) operates.
The weapon is considered to be "less" devastating than nuclear weapons as it leaves no radiation behind despite the damage dealt is similar to nuclear arsenals and the lack of MIRVs suggests that only a single warhead is on the missile making it unable to hit multiple targets at once.
Based on description alone, Core Magic is an Cold War level ICBM. It's power yield may be a 1-50 megaton in Cold War standards. However, it's range is at least three times further than RS-28 Sarmat, which boasts 18,000km range as the longest ICBM range on Earth.
History[]
Mythical Era[]
The Ravernal Empire used the Core Magic as its trump card against the Draconian gods during the so-called Dragon Sorcery War, a war between the Ravernal Empire and Infidragoon. The Ravernals managed to destroy Infidragoon cities, making the Dragonfolks desolate and fled the country. When the Ravernal Empire transported their continent to the future, the Dragonfolks would gather once again and established what is now know as Emor Kingdom.
Core Magic was also used against the Black Moon Tribe, which similarly opposed the Ravernal Empire. Just like the Infidragoon, this attack destroyed their country and caused the population to scatter and reform.
Trivia[]
- According to Minorou, the blast strength of the Core Magic is equivalent to the nuclear weapons in the 1960s, which means TSAR bomba is included.
- (FYI: However the 1960s is an extremely broad term and thousands of nuclear weapons were utilized in the 60s; non of them being nearly as powerful as the TSAR. So although it is a possibility, it is highly unlikely the author meant the 1960s as a way to inform readers that Core Magic has an equivalent yield to the TSAR bomba. It is most likely Minorou meant the general populace of nuclear weapons in a countries arsenal which have explosive yields of 100 kilotons-5 megatons; much less than the 50 megaton TSAR bomba).
