Diplomacy is the art and practice of conducting negotiations between representatives of states. In the case of Japan, after being transferred, their main goals in diplomacy include economic and foreign relations.

Unlike Earth, the diplomacy of the New World completely voids of international laws and standards as well as any international governing body like the UN to monitor due to the primitive and underdeveloped nature of the New World. This causes diplomacy in the New World to be highly violent, unsavory, and unfair in general, especially between civilized nations and uncivilized nations as well as between countries with better technology and countries with lesser technology in three levels of civilization area: Third, Second and First.

New World Diplomacy[]

After being transferred to the New World, Japan immediately realized the imminent danger of starvation among its population. Therefore, establishing foreign and economic relations with the Qua-Toyne Principality and the Quila Kingdom was essential towards Japan's survival. Furthermore, this allowed Japan to gain a foothold in the New World as they would send out many delegates to contact other nations. With the promise of enhancing their own standards of living and technology, most nations outside of the Civilized Areas, found that establishing diplomatic ties with Japan to be very beneficial. Whenever Japan offered its hand in friendship, the other nations would take it.

Unfortunately, Japan's first encounter with the Third Civilization Area, namely the Parpaldia Empire, would end in tragic consequences for both sides. This is where Japan would learn that their conservative-style of diplomacy was seen as weak and that Gunboat Diplomacy was the norm among the Civilized Areas. Instead of accepting Japan's hand of friendship, the Empire pointed a sword at it. The Parpaldians immediately demanded that Japan capitulate to them and slaughtered 200 innocent tourists to prove their point. However, this act would backfire with the near-total devastation of the Parpaldian military and the loss of 73 territories.

Japan would continue to establish ties with other nations, mostly out of economic and international prestige. In order to make sure the incident with Parpaldian Empire never happened again, Japan started to adopt a more forceful style of policy toward potential hostile nations. However, they would again encounter gunboat diplomacy during the Eleven Country Leadership Conference, and the Gra Valkas Empire's declaration of war on the world. With its establishment as the only country that was capable of defeating the Gra Valkas threat, Japan's international standing is nearing its peak, much to the consternation of other nations, such as the Holy Milishial Empire.
