The Pal Chimera is a magical aerial battleship that was created by Ravernal Empire.  

Description

The Flying battleship Pal Chimera has a ring shaped structure roughly 260 meters in diameter, with three thin spoke-like hull structures connected to the bridge located at the center, forming a shape similar to that of a Mercedes-Benz logo when viewed from above or below. The ship is equipped with six magical gravity repelling matrixes on the ring structure and 3 secondary matrixes on the spokes, and by adjusting the thrust power of the matrixes it will allow the ship to tilt and move in the desired direction. To propel the vessel forward, the 2 fore mounted matrixes will supply 60% of their thrust, the port and starboard ones 80%, and finally 100% from the aft engines. The maximum air speed of the Pal Chimera, however, is a relatively sluggish 200km/h.

The Pal Chimera is armed with 6 powerful 150mm magical triple batteries mounted on the ventral surface of the ring, and devastating magical bombs that can kill crews inside a battleship easily. However, they lack defenses for a battleship main gun (perhaps because the ship was never intended to take direct hits from weapons of such caliber), which causes one of the ship to be shot down by cannons from a battleship using Armor Piercing rounds rather than standard Anti-Air Explosive Shell. Due to reliance on magic defenses, the hull defenses on Pal Chimeras were rather thin, intended only to withstand fragmentation rounds fired from AA guns, and easily pierced with anti-armor weaponry.

Operators

• Holy Milishial Empire - The HME excavated several units of these sky behemoths. The operation is undertaken by the Ancient Superweapons Analysis and Tactical Operations Department, not the military, and staff members are masked to keep confidential and call each other by cryptography. The analysis is also done by this organization, but it seems too difficult for Holy Milishial Empire to be analyzed. So far, The empire has neither means of reproducing a Pal Chimera nor manufacture spare parts. Currently, the organization operates 7 of these ships, with 5 can operate and only 2 are capable of fighting (However, one was destroyed in Great Naval Battle of Baltica).
• Annonrial Empire - As descendants of the Light Winged People, it is expected that they also possess several units, and since they are direct descendants of the light wings, they might have the capability to make new Pal Chimeras.
• Cryseilis Holy Kingdom - Surprisingly, this kingdom from the so-called Out-of-Range Civilizations possesses an Pal Chimera as their flagship. They christened it as Divine Emperor Gausser, which is a name of a Cryseilian monarch from their golden age.

Service History

New World War

Unit 1 and Unit 2 participated in the LN version (Volume 4) of the Battle of Baltica Offshore, it defeated the Gra Valkas fighters and bombers that were heading for it by the Athratates cannons. Its superior accuracy and long-range weapons that fires from outside the range of the high-angle guns defeated the Gra Valkas ships. However, because the 15 cm cannons cannot destroy the battleship Las Argeti, it proceeded towards the enemy fleet while repelling anti-aircraft fire, and dropped directly Jibil above the enemy ship, killing its crew but the ship remained intact.

When Unit 1 try to fly straight above the battleship Grade Atlastar to drop a Jibil, the legendary ship of Gra Valkas fired armor-piercing shells from its main guns and miraculously hit one of them. The engine section exploded, ignited magic fuel, and Unit 1 fell apart and scattered in the Baltica Sea. Commander Meteos of Unit 2, which had been instructed by Emperor Milishial VIII, "If any unit is damaged, please withdraw immediately", withdraw from the battle.

Great Naval Battle of Japan

Later on, Captain Meteos was dispatched under the command of Emperor Milishial VIII, intending to "assist" Japan against the Gra Valkas Great Fleet. It arrived just in time to assist Japan in the final battle of the campaign, after Japanese forces had run out of missiles. The Unit's arrival was the final straw for the Gra Valkas commander, who ordered the fleet to abandon the mission while he continued forward in the Grade Atlastar for a suicide attack.

Conflict at Silkark Kingdom

As El Ganen received the report of their Dragon Knights' annihilation, at the same time, the Cryseilian Royal Family also authorized him to use Kill Ravernal arsenals. Reinforcements from the Holy King's Air Fleet were dispatched to repel the assault, with a Flying Battleship Pal Chimera as their flagship, named Divine Emperor Gausser (In Cryseilis naming). The Military King Minet ordered all of the airships to sortie and assist the Holy King's Air Fleet. The Cryseilian Pal Chimera was now two hours away from Waqaskalt, and the crew wore uniforms with code number and appearance similar to Holy Milishial Empire's Pal Chimera crew. The Captain of the Cryseilian Pal Chimera wore a red suit, white mask, and pointy hat. There was a tale said that the Captain wear such, as a sign wanting to get closer as that of those from the Ravernal Empire. Aerolit, the Air Group commander, wouldn't expect he got such order from the Holy King to destroy the enemy's fleet. Gundrite, the captain of Cryseilian Pal Chimera, received orders from Aerolit to commence the assault. Included in the order is that they are allowed to use their stocks of anti-ship Guided Magic Warheads that came from the time of the Ravernal Empire.

However, the said flying battleship was no match against Japan's AEGIS destroyers as the Divine Emperor Gausser was shot down using a modified Type-90 SSM-1B Ship-to-Ship Missile.
