Land Dragon, also known as Lindwurm, is a terrestrial wingless dragon used by the Parpaldia Empire as living flame tanks.
Description[]
The Land Dragon is a terrestrial wingless dragon that lives in the Parpaldia Empire in the Philades Continent. The figure of Land Dragon in the manga and light novel is more detailed and looks like a giant Alligator Snapping Turtle with spike horns on its head to neck. It is twice the size of an elephant. Its body was round, and at the end of its neck that stretched from its torso was a triangular head similar to that of a turtle’s. The top of the carapace is completely covered with thick armor. Unlike the Wyvern, it has a very short range, but it can emit a magic flame bullet that overwhelm surfaces. In particular, the carapace on its back is built with wooden board and the aspect of transporting troops with musketeers. In addition to participating in direct battles using firebombs and other weapons, it is also used to tow and transport magical artillery and cargo.
The body surface of these dragons is impenetrable to armed forces that uses ordinary bow unless it is a heavy bow, however they are still vulnerable to musket fire as well as the compound bow, as seen during the attack of the Anti-Parpaldian coalition led by the Riem Kingdom in the city of Aruni. Parpaldia did develop bulletproof armor that can be equipped on them, but the only place this was ever seen deployed was in the Capital Defense Army Base. It may have been a new technology Parpaldia was unable to deploy due to the war.
In addition, there is a wooden sailing assault ship used to transport this powerful weapon by sea, which shows how important it is.
