Magic Cannons are magical weapons used by countries in the Civilized Areas. There are two versions of the cannon used in Third, Second and First Civilization. Their main purpose is long-range artillery, bombardment and defense from enemy attack.

Magic Cannons in these countries minus Japan and Gra Valkas Empire are considered rare and state-of the-art. However, these are also used by Fenn Kingdom (via their Sword God) via the Designated Restricted Technical Inventory of the Parpaldia Empire. Irnetia Kingdom even managed to make their own magic cannons through their wealth and vast resources, although their magic cannons are considered inferior to their Third and Second Civilization counterparts.

Third and Second Civilization[]

Magic Cannons in Third and Second Civilization countries minus Mu used magical force from magic gems that acts like gunpowder to propel cannonballs or shells at the target. The design overall is more complex than 19th century gunpowder cannon due to the need to generate magical force to propel the cannon ball using crushed magic gems.

In the Third Civilization, magic cannons are similar to 19th-century cannons, which fit their level of Napoleon Era technological development. However, in the second civilization, the cannons are designed in a way that has a resemblance to WW1 cannons that fire cannon shells than cannonballs. During the Parpaldia Empire’s Invasion of Fenn, the Imperial Army used towed versions of these cannons to supplement their force of Land Dragons. However, the power of these cannons could not even stop a single JGSDF tank due to its composite armor.

First Civilization[]

First Civilization countries like Holy Mirishial Empire use a more advanced version of magic cannon. The magic cannon mechanism in the first civilization work by using magical force as propellant to the cannon shells than gunpowder.

When the shell is loaded to the cannon, the cannon will be charged with a strong magical force that imbues the shell and propels it at the intended target. When the shell exits the cannon it will be covered with a blue magical force that creating a trail of the blue line in the trajectory. Finally, the shell will explode in a blue magical explosion when it hits a target.

During the battle against Gra Valkas Empire, the cannons are inferior in both range and firepower to WW2-era cannons used by Gra Valkas Imperial Navy.

Based on the analysis of Japanese weapon experts, the mechanism of the magic cannons of the First Civilization is quite similar to a rail-gun but since the magical cannons are fundamentally not a rail-gun so it is not worth for the Japanese to research deeply into it. These cannons also uses Fire Control System (FCS) just like the modern naval guns of Japan, however they are not as accurate as their Japanese counterparts. To compensate, a ship normally posses more guns and depends on firing volleys to ensure hits. In terms of rate of fire, they are considered slower to reload than World War 2 era cannons. They also lack the range of their modern counterparts.

The composition, however, can be changed depends on how much firepower it can give to the target as the crew at Holy Mirishial Empire normally insert at least three elements (Fire, Sky, and Explosives) to the shell.

Ravernal Empire[]

The Ravernal Empire-version of magical cannons are shown to be as good as modern tank cannons in term of destructive capability, which far surpasses any magical cannons deployed by any nations in the New World including the Holy Mirishial Empire.

Out-of-Range Civilizations[]

Civilizations from these category like the Cryseilis Holy Kingdom are using such weapons and far more effective and accurate than the magic cannons of the Third and Second Civilization Areas as they can incorporate Conductive Magnetic Radar to increase their accuracy and range. However, they are way outclassed by their Japanese counterparts.
