Maynard is the commander of the 52nd District Force of the Gra Valkas Empire, known as the Ishtam Fleet, commanding from aboard the flagship, the Pegasus-class aircraft carrier Scheat.

In the light novel version, Maynard is described as a pale and sickly man.
Personality[]
Despite his appearance, Maynard is a complete sadist. Thus, he is withdrawn from the upper ranks and his peers in the military. However, he is a very loyal solider of the Gra Valkas Empire.
Chronology[]
Battle of Mykal Offshore[]
On February 7, 1643 of the Central Calendar (Earth Year 2019), the Ishtam Fleet was dispatched to destroy the cities Otaheit and Mykal in Mu. The destruction of Otaheit was given to Captain Osniel of the Orion-Class Battleship Meisa, and the destruction of Mykal was given to Maynard. However the plan was accidentally discovered by the JMSDF's 4th Escort Flotilla. Miura, the captain of the flagship Hyuga-class helicopter destroyer Hyūga, sent a message to Maynard that they must surrender because they have a huge technological gap. However, Maynard refused and laughed at Miura. Minutes later, the Ishtam was subjected to a saturation missile strike of Type 90 SSM-1B Ship-to-ship Missiles. Maynard died along with the destruction of the Ishtam Fleet.
